As a surfer my approach is pretty conservative; I'm simply trying to get as many of the best waves any given day has to offer and to ride those waves as long and as smoothly as possible. I make boards to try and accomplish these goals. They tend to sit on the generous side volume wise and emphasize paddleabilty, speed and flow. I build all my boards from start to finish in Portland, OR. Each one is hand shaped from recyclable and/or recycled EPS foam and glassed with a bio-based epoxy resin. To me this reflects the current best option for evolving surf design while working towards a more sustainable board. My aim is to make the most durable, low impact, beautifully functional boards I can. I'm drawn to the lines and aesthetics of the transition and shortboard revolution era, but I try to stay open minded and take inspiration from all eras and styles of surfing. Basically, I make boards for environmentally conscious nerds.
I also offer contract bio-glassing services, here Cascade Glasswerks
